I never imagined I'd wind up as a professional trapeze performer! But somehow that's the direction my life took. Primarily an actor/writer (and still am) I took a circus skills class as research for a play I was writing (NIGHTS AT THE CIRCUS). One of the many things the wonderful Hovey Burgess had us do was trapeze.
Since then, I have performed on trapeze in Breaker, created by the inimitable and incredible aerial performer Chelsea Bacon, in the equally unique and awesome Tanya Gagné's aerial cabarets, and in my play LOOKING UP in Edinburgh.
I am also co-producer (with Britt Nhi Sarah) of the long-running, hugely popular ABOVE THE BELT aerial variety show at The Zipper Theater in New York City. For the last few years I've been concentrating on SINGING while performing a trapeze routine. I've been featured in articles in Spectacle (the circus trade magazine) because this seems to be a pretty unusual specialty!
